CT Minimum Wage Increase on January 1, 2024
On Monday, January 1, 2024, Connecticut’s minimum wage increased from $15.00 per hour to $15.69 per hour.
This was the first minimum wage adjustment based on the percentage change in the employment cost index (or any successor index), for wages and salaries for all civilian workers, as calculated by the United States Department of Labor, over the twelve-month period ending on June 30th of the preceding year, as required by Public Act No. 19-4 which amended Conn. Gen. Stat. § 31-58. Each October 15th, the Labor Commissioner will announce the adjustment in the minimum fair wage which will become the new minimum fair wage effective on the following January 1st.
